You should cut your hair as often as needed to maintain healthy looking ends, and to keep your hairstyle manageable. On average, hair grows ½” - ¾” per month, so to maintain shorter styles the rule of thumb is: trim every 4-6 weeks; 6-8 weeks for longer styles. And if you’re trying to “grow your hair out”, stretch it to 8-10 weeks.
Bringing in pictures from magazines is a great way to give your stylist a place to start. But since your hair is probably not the same texture, length and density as your favorite celebrity, it’s also helpful to tell your stylist up front a little about your lifestyle, i.e., how much time are you willing/able to spend on styling? What is your exercise routine? Do you need to be able to pull your hair back? Do you like to change your look frequently? Getting answers to these questions will enable your stylist to give you exactly what you want.
Unless you are an adolescent with an extremely oily scalp, don’t shampoo every day! This holds even truer for those with curly hair. Over-cleansing can often lead to dry, dull hair. Even after heavy exercise, you can most times get away with a good rinse and/or conditioning. If you do tend toward an oilier scalp, try Bb’s hair powder. It’s great for absorbing oil without stripping your hair of all its natural moisture.
Bb foundation products like Tonic and Prep are necessary for the following reasons - Prep and Tonic are super detanglers - and you can use the heck out of ‘em on super fine textures without weighing hair down. Prep and Tonic equalize hair porosity, for a more even distribution of other styling products (particularly important on longer and/or color treated hair). Prep and Tonic are also great conditioners for hair and scalp, and can soothe dry, itchy scalp.
Our estheticians are thoroughly experienced (i.e., fast) making for the least painful experience possible. However, we do recommend you take a mild pain killer (at least for your first time), such as Tylenol, before your waxing service.
Hot stone massage involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body. The direct heat relaxes muscles and creates sensations of comfort and warmth. Relaxed muscles allow for easier manipulation of muscles and better overall results from massage.
You need at least half an inch of hair growth (too long is better than
too short). If you shave, it’s about 2 weeks of growth.
