Alex Dobbs – Level 2 Stylist
I went to Brenau University with dreams of becoming an Art Teacher. I’ve always loved creating and making beautiful things, but while traveling (and soul searching) the summer after my sophomore year, I realized that clay and paints might not be the creative outlet I was longing for. Loving hair, makeup, and fashion the way I do, it seemed only natural to go to cosmetology school! I started working in an Alpharetta salon immediately after graduating from Paul Mitchell. I was there for a few years. Unfortunately, I was in a horrible accident (hit by a car I might add) and couldn’t work for a bit. While on hiatus, I traveled (another passion) to NYC and fell in love with the city. I applied for “fast track training” hairstylist position for the new Williamsburg Arrojo Salon and was accepted after 5 long interviews, models, and shadowing Nick Arrojo himself! But, to be able to afford to do it, I had to work another job and still borrow money from my parents to eat…honestly, I wasn’t ready for that yet. I hung with it as long as possible but eventually came back to Atlanta to be near family and friends. Shortly after returning I came to Salon Red and I knew this was going to be my new salon home. I love the clientele, my coworkers, and the amount of creativity and inspiration all around us here! I cannot wait to see how much I grow here in the next few years to come. I love creating all looks for different types of clients; cut and color! Making people happy is what I do, and I love it! Check out my Instagram @alexsofancy for some of my work.
