6 Things You Don’t Know About Becca Tincher
10.02.2013
The connection between stylist and client is so much more than a business relationship. Over the years we come to know our clients on an immensely personal level, laughing with them during happy times, and even crying and commiserating during the sad ones. Our clients become like family, and for our clients their stylist often becomes a confidant, counselor and even friend. It’s in that vein that we start the month of October off right with the continuation of our“6 Things You Don’t Know….”series. This month we’re introducing a stylist whose quiet nature serves her well with her clients. Brookhaven stylist,Becca Tincheris a powerhouse of creativity and style and we are beyond thrilled to list her as part of the Salon Red family!
1. Becca’s been in the industry her whole life in one way or another.Becca grew up helping out her grandmother who worked asashampoo assistant at a local salon, which she attributes as sparking her early fascination with the beauty industry. Then while participating in a high school work study, Becca got her first chance at the bowl. When her boss caught her constantly reading all the reference books in the salon, she invited Becca to become an apprentice. And the rest, as they say, is history.
2.Becca’s second love is family. She loves to have quality cuddle time with her husband and their animal children (the two dogs: Mary and Spunky, and their cat Corduroy). She also loves nothing more than cooking and baking for loved ones.“I like trying new recipes and watching people enjoy them!”
3.Becca’s art extends beyond the salon and into life! When not busy at the salon, Becca loves immersing herself in all kinds of artwork. Citing artists like Tim Burton, Fiona Apple, and Tori Amos as her influences, Becca loves experimenting with a variety of media. In fact, most of the pieces featured in her home were created by her or her talented friends!
4.She has a special place in her heart for men’s cuts.“I have a passion for color, and even though I’ve had to work harder at perfecting mycutting skills I’ve been told my specialty is men’s cuts. I love so many styles, and I love seeing even the pickiest of clients happy when they leave my chair!”
5.Becca is addicted to conditioner! When asked what advice she would want to pass on to her clients, Becca’s immediate response wasconditioner!Becca says a good conditioner is the most important part of at home maintenance for your hair. Her favorite?Bumble & bumble Mending. “It gives my hair the strength it needs to withstand all that I put it through!”.
6.She believes even your day-to-day style can have that hint of glamour! When discussing her influences,Becca couldn’t leave out the icon to end all icons: Audrey Hepburn. It’s her classic beauty and timeless stylethat Becca attributes to her belief that hair doesn’t have to be avant-garde or impractical to be beautiful.“I consider myself an ‘everyday’ stylist”. Those crazy things are fun, but I want to focus on making every day fabulous!”
