Comedienne, writer, and producer Tina Fey may makes us laugh every week on her hit show 30 Rock, but her look for last Sunday’s Emmy Awards was certainly rocking our world. Ms. Fey’s modern spin on Old Hollywood glam was the perfect compliment to her gorgeous Narciso Rodriguez gown. So Misti, tell us about Gold Lust Oil?
Gold lust oil is a lightweight combination of argan and jasmine oils as well as extracts such as sandlewood and of course the Oribe Signature Complex. Together they repair damaged hair while also giving it smoothness and shine. Unlike other hair oil products on the shelves, gold lust oil absorbs quickly even into the finest of hair, making it great for any and all hair types. As I’ve mentioned before, I have pretty fine hair myself, and this is the first oil that hasn’t weighed my hair down. Whereas most oils leave my hair flat and lifeless, Gold Lust seems to be the perfect weight.
According to Fey’s stylist, Richard Marrin, he used Gold Lust Oil to finish her look. How do I do that at home?
One of the great things about this product is its versatility. It can be used on either wet or dry hair. In the case of Tina Fey, using it on dry and styled hair can help keep fly-aways down and adds that touch of golden shine that pops in the light. For dry hair applciations you want to use significantly less and apply it primarily to the ends of your hair. If you want a little extra volume I recommend using volume products like Oribe’s Maximista or Volumista before finishing with the Gold Lust Oil on the ends. The oil gives separation and shine without weighing down the volume you worked so hard to get!
Getting back to reality for a moment, what if I can’t afford a styling team to come do my hair for me? Is this still a product I can use on those busy mornings when I have no time for fancy techniques but I still want fancy hair?
Absolutely! The great thing about Gold Lust Oil is that when you apply it to damp hair, it actually pushes water out and can speed up drying times while still providing heat protection and conditioning!
